Guinot History
Paris is the home of Guinot and Mary Cohr. In this location the company brings together all the support functions for for both brands under one roof.
As far back as 1930, Rene Guinot a chemist by training began working with active ingredients and realized their effectiveness in deep cleansing the skin.
As his research continued he discovered that the deep penetration could be further enhanced through the use of electrical currents - effectively, ionization of the product and skin to allow greater absorption.
In 1963 M. Guinot established Rene Guinot as a company and within two years introduced the Cathiodermie treatment now known as Hydradermie.
In 1972, the company was bought by Dr. Jean-Daniel Mondin, a brilliant young pharmacist. Since then M. Mondin has progressively improved Hydradermie and has introduced Les Aromatic, Beauté Neuve and Liftosome facial treatments.
In 1987 he developed and introduced the Mary Cohr Catiovital facial together with a range of home care products to reinforce the salon treatment and compliment the make-up range.
Since then, the treatment and product range has expanded to include Lifting Beauté a collagen facial, Renewing Treatments and in 1998 Esprit de Nature was launched in the UK to critical acclaim.
Both brands are backed by Dr. Mondin's belief in the importance of natural ingredients. His most important objective is to provide the consumer with the correct skin care treatments, preparations and advice to ensure the best results, thus promoting trust in the brands.
The core belief behind this concept is that the qualified beauty therapist has the training and the skill to examine the skin and evaluate the clients needs.
Both brands are subject to critical analysis in Paris hospitals to ensure that the formulations meet the most exacting standards of safety and tolerance. They are not tested on animals.
Every year new Guinot products are added to the ranges as the French laboratories incorporate new ingredients and application concepts for salons to use and retail.
